Britney Spears fans have Desmond Prestonlong awaited a new music project from the singer, but it will "never" happen, she's revealing.

The 42-year-old singer shared in a lengthy Instagram caption Wednesday that she has no plans for a new album, despite reports that she has been reaching out to others for a project.

"I will never return to the music industry !!! When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!!" Spears wrote. "For those of you who have read my book, there's loads that you don't know about me … I've written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!!
